Technology is never neutral. We teach you how to stay in control.
AI is taking a bigger role in how we work.
The pressure to act on it is growing too.
But how do you know what works?
Where to begin?
Whom to trust?
We give you the knowledge
to set your own direction.
More and more organisations are putting AI to work. But who is watching the risks that come with it?
Who controls your data? Who maintains the algorithms, and who benefits from their output? And above all: how do you keep your mission, values and judgement from vanishing into a black box?
Social Technology Lab believes technology should be used responsibly. Most providers stop at tools and applications; we also look under the hood. Responsible use takes more than knowing which buttons to press. It takes insight into how the technology works, the choices baked into it, and what happens when you put it to use.
Our training helps organisations find their way in a field that changes monthly. We teach you how AI works, the questions it raises, and how to make deliberate choices about using it.
We believe every organisation can develop a framework for navigating technology, today’s and tomorrow’s. One that is not tied to any current tool, but keeps you asking the right questions and making sound decisions.
That framework rests on three principles:
Understand
How AI works, and the choices and assumptions beneath it.
Assess
What it means for people: rights, fairness and other ethical concerns. And for the organisation as a whole.
Govern
Take a clear position on how your organisation wants to use AI.
In short: know how it works, know what it does, and know where your organisation stands.
Our training programme
Every organisation starts from somewhere different. So we do not begin with an off-the-shelf course; we begin by understanding your organisation, then determine which training fits. Combining courses is possible too.
For organisations that want to understand the foundations of AI. Where it came from, how it works and what it can do, so you also see the risks and limitations.
For organisations about to deploy an algorithm that must complete the IAMA, the Dutch fundamental rights and algorithms impact assessment. We facilitate the assessment, help you map its effects, and clarify who is responsible for what.
For organisations about to deploy an algorithm that must complete the IAMA, the Dutch fundamental rights and algorithms impact assessment. We facilitate the assessment, help you map its effects, and clarify who is responsible for what.
Along the way we build the skills within your team, so you can complete future assessments on your own.
For organisations that want to work with AI agents: systems that execute tasks and make decisions on their own. What sets agentic AI apart from other AI, and the new risks and responsibilities that come with it.
For leaders and board members answerable for how their organisation uses AI. The strategic and ethical questions it raises, the choices and duties you hold, and how to arrive at a clear position.
